Hi everyone! It’s nice to write on my blog again. Usually I’m always packed with things to do and have little time to update my page here. Since tonight I have some time for myself here I am going to explain in detail my last week travel to Venice.

First of all: I was alone and even so I had a great time! So if you are wondering if the most romantic city in the world is solo traveller friendly it is definitely a YES! I spent 5 days in a hostel on Giudecca island, in front of Venice, and since the room was cheap I got to spend my extra money on food, things and some presents for myself.

I was in Venice in December 2015 the last time and since it was so windy and chilly after sunset we were mostly in the apartment we rented for the stay after 5-6 p.m, so this time I decided to experience Venice in a sunny month and September was definitely the right choice!

It was my first time travelling alone since usually I only spend the time on trains and such by myself, after that I usually meet up with others. This time I was alone for the entire stay and I got to know myself more.

Travelling alone is an experience I highly recommend to everyone especially the ones, like me, who think of themself as independent and loners. I always believed I was a kind of person who needn’t people to be happy and I was wrong. I realized it the first night, while in my room I kind of felt lonely with no one to share my journey with. But after that first night I spoke to the people who shared my hostel: French, English and Canadians youth like me who wanted to experience Venice the best they could.

My travel consisted of 5 days and every day I wanted to experience different sides of Venice so I planned my schedule very carefully:

1st day: I arrived in the early afternoon in Venice, got to my hostel and unpacked.. Then I explored Giudecca island who is different from the main Venice we know. There are small parks, new modern houses, a university and the best small streets where you would want to get lost forever. After memorizing the position of the supermarkets, restaurants and such I ate pistachio ice cream and watched the best sunset view of the entire stay!

2nd day: my birthday. I wore my best frilly white dress and explored Venice. Got to the hebrew area, my loved one, where I ate my favourite Kosher sweets and then off to S.Marco. In the middle of the day there was a huge storm and I got wet from the rain… even so I stayed out till 8. S.Marco during sunset was magical, full of lights and music orchestras… Ate Spaghetti with clams in a high-end restaurant with the best view on S.Marco to celebrate my birthday.

3rd day: Murano and Burano. Murano is peaceful and beautiful for a quick stay. I highly recommend it if you want to see the glass-makers doing their job. There are exquisite restaurants everywhere and glass boutiques where you can buy gifts. Ate there and then headed off to Burano a 30 minutes ride on the ferry-boat. Burano was a huge surprise for me! It’s a small island with a park all around it and in the middle colorful houses everywhere. The colors were so vivid and the boutiques full of frilly things to buy… Best spot for couples to take pictures of course.

4th day: Lido’s beach. I spent the entire day by the sea and it was awesome. The sun was so warm and th sea breeze so soothing. I walked a lot, swam, read and ate. I got so tanned in only one day that I was seriously surprised… Drank a fresh strawberry 500 ml smoothie while heading back and got lost… Ferry-boats change slightly routes after 7 p.m and I didn’t know it so I had to stay another 1 hour out because I needed to take another one to return to Giudecca.

5th day: I left my baggage at the train station and stayed another 4 hours in the hebrew district, bought gifts and explored again the centre of Venice. Bought myself 2 chickenburger at Mc Donalds for the train ride and returned home with a feeling of accomplishment.

I suggest you to always cherish the memories of your past travels. I was a solo traveller and I spent 5 days as I was walking like in a dream. I got to do what I wanted without having to deal what others may want and this is why I totally recommend this kind of experience. I will return to Venice again for sure because it is already a beautiful memory to me and I will not ever forget about it.

To you all I can say only this: Travel as much as you can and never think of what others may think of it. Life is precious and too short to bother with others judgement!

Love you all from the bottom of my heart. ❤

December 14th is gonna be our anniversary and for the occasion, as I mentioned some posts ago, we are gonna travel to a beautiful city. I was searching through the net for some deals in Europe and I was really sure to go visit Barcelona, but instead… we are going to Venice!

Since I am italian and not a halfie or someone who just lived abroad for her entire life, it’s really a shame I couldn’t visit yet one of the most famous italian cities. Venice is renowned for being a romantic location abroad, where every year there’s a famous film festival. In an american point of view is a place for love, best location for vips marriage or a city to visit once in a lifetime but for an italian is simply history and art.

Venice for me is not a romantic city but a place where I can see beautiful architectures, art and discover the history behind it. Since Venice is basically an artificial island made of  100 small islands linked and supported together by wood poles planted in the mud centuries ago, I wanted to visit it to discover new things to know.

Venice is an essential part of our history: once one of the maritime republic, was a really prosperous city that linked the East Europe (Russia, Turkey and the other countries on the Mediterranean Sea) with the West through Italy, transporting merchants and products by ships even before Marco Polo appeared (13th century).

I will visit Murano and the glass makers, the famous “bridges”, piazza S.Marco and the orthodox cemetery, of course there’s gonna be  our anniversary celebration but if I have to say the truth we’re more excited by the possibility to  see Venice!

I’m already preparing everything I’ll need:  buying a new and bigger trolley, a warmer jacket along with clothes since we are gonna spend most of our time outside site-seeing, train tickets and boat tickets and gifts for his family that we are gonna go visit after Venice.  Christmas and maybe New year are with my in-laws so I will be back in January.

Kisses and always enjoy travelling! Bye ❤

Today I’m gonna share with you my opinion on a series that catched my interest from the start and I truly loved from the bottom of my heart. I finished to watch it yesterday and thought to introduce you around this amazing project.

This series revolves around a book written by Lily Koppel “The astronaut wifes club” that tells the story of the wives of the very first astronaut men who tried to reach the space and the moon during the “Cold war” with URSS. The team named”Mercury seven” is the first ever group of astronauts created for this purpose.

The trials, the expectations, the problems, the mistakes, the difficulty to maintain a proper family relationships under the camera of so many journalists/ tv, in such a heavy atmosphere, is understandable. And even more when the tragedy did happend. I truly sympathized with the characters (the actresses were superb in my opinion) and especially Betty Grissom, one of the widows, was truly a sweet character.

The strong female characters are here depicted as they truly are: wives, mothers and friends who support each other. The differences are clear: Lady Louise (Shepard) is the cold queen, Rene Carpenter the independent female voice and the others have each one the capability to get through problems together.

I think this series could have been longer but the episodes are 10 and apparently only 1 season was created. Such a shame…

I enjoyed the portrayal of  their lives, their different behaviours, the emotions of the wives as they watched their men attempt to reach that goal who was so far away. I could feel the terror and the anxiety of the possibility that their men could be killed trying something so dangerous.

The tryals were great and the relationships with the other groups wives of Gemini and Apollo depicted well.

These women are to be respected and looked upon as role models.

astrowives1 ows_143455703342398 29751F6A00000578-3115943-image-m-118_1433796716798 the_astronauts_wives_club

I really like when there’s a series portraying the “behind the scene” of an important historical date/event. The moon landing and the firsts attempts to reach the space are part of our history and the little we know about it is simply fault of the educational system. I’m sure in USA, as in Russia, in school children study this topic really early in age, this is different in Italy where the moon landing was seen as an event too distant and unrelated.

Wish there were more of these kind of series and less fictional romance stories on vampires, werewolves and such…

Hi, during the past months I crazily searched for a cute dress to wear on Christmas’s day and the result is that I had dozens of “save for later” clothes on different shopping websites. (Asos, Yesstyle, Zalando, Abercrombie…) It’s quite comic how I can be so indecisive at times… 🙂

I was searching basically for an elegant/cute outfit to wear on that day and to be good enough to wear in other different occasions, like weddings, party’s and such. This is my personal first trick: choose always a dress that can be used for multiple purposes, so you will save money later.

For a well made dress you need to set firstly a price. With the bad economy here in Italy a 50 euro dress (62 $) is good enough but definitely not a well made one. You can’t expect silk or refined dresses but it’s a good bargain if you find a good chance. Still I think that even if we don’t have enough money, and here I’m talking about women, we tend to save up for a better dress instead of setting for a “not so pretty” outfit. We want to appear beautiful and feel reassured too, so if we wear something we are not sure about we tend to be less happy and friendlier with others. We want the “WOW” effect this is why we should always choose something that make us feel the best.

The second trick to save money is simple and maybe not good for anyone but definitely a good opportunity to challenge themselves in being creative: You need to buy an only outfit for both Christmas and New Eve!

Christmas is usually spent with family, New Eve with friends, lover… So the people you see on these days might be different, and in case you spend both with your boyfriend/husband you have to know that they usually don’t pay attention to what you wear. Mens are pretty dense at times… So if you are on a tight budget buy one dress and just make a change with accessories!

  • Stilettos, bright and precious jewels, elegant pochette and a sophisticated make up and hair do for New Eve
  • Boots, cozy and soft knitwear, red or white tights, cute hat and funny bag for Christmas

So for today I’m gonna write about how to save money and to style a single outfit for different occasions:

  • Sometimes it’s better to choose a skirt instead of a dress.
  • Furry dresses are a must for Christmas!
  • Leggings and soft socks are really recommended
  • Red, white, green do a perfect match
  • Cozy, cute and pretty knitwear are the best!

This year I chose a checkered red dress, black tights, knee boots, cute cape and white hat and scarf. I personally sport cute outfits even if I’m 25 years old… It makes me feel better and kind of nostalgic. I often remember my mom dressing me up when I was a child with pretty dresses and bows… I loved how she was trying to make me look cute and pretty. I think it’s because of my surroundings that I’ve been able to learn how to dress myself up.

Here below I chose some looks to copy or to give you simply some inspiration. Try to remember that It’s not needed that you buy every year a new outfityou can use whatever you have in your wardrobe that makes you feel good. Just add a bit of accessories or a cute thing and the look is complete!

For example re-use a skirt of the last year and match it with a cozy pullover and white socks, try pants, try a different look or a dress that you never worn before and that has been in your wardrobe for some time… (I do it a lot!)

As you can see this year is the year of knitwear especially dresses... why? Because it’s definitely a smart choice! You can add accessories, belts, change tights, shoes… and the look will be completely different. This is why you can always re-use this type of dress to New Eve too. And there’s something even more exciting about this type of outfit… If you are gonna eat a lot like me, then it’s a good choice, it will cover up your belly enough to make you appear as slim as before you have sat down to eat with your family…

Have fun in these festivities and cherish who you love with all your heart.

Hera is a well-known korean brand for women around 25- 50 who want to appear younger and look like a celebrity. Their products are a bit pricey in comparison of other brands like Etude House and Skinfood which are liked and designed basically for young women (15-30). So we are talking about a different target for a different cost, this is why there’s a gap in money. But even if Hera’s products cost more they are definitely worth it.

I have used as far other products of this brand (body cream, bio-cell…) but today I’m gonna write about their Cleansing Foam which I love and use every time I take off my makeup.

  • The real minimum amount of product used per time. (which make the product last forever, so even if it’s a bit more pricey it lasts more than any other cleanser)
  • The light scent that makes me feel relaxed and pampered.
  • The silky smooth appearance of my skin after using it, like having put on my face several layers of cream, toner and other stuff.
  •  No absolutely traces of makeup. It’s really effective.
  • Dullness gone, I can see my skin improvement in getting whiter and smooth.
  • The feeling of absolute cleanliness on my face. (I especially love this thing because I can sense my skin breathing after so many hours under makeup)

For me Hera’s Cleansing Foam is the best korean product to remove makeup. It’s true that I had to change my way of getting rid of my makeup since here in Italy we don’t have such things like cleansing foams, and beauty treatments like in Korea… So I’ve always used the removal tissues of any kind of brand (only brands that I can find at the supermarket here in Italy) like Nivea, Lycia, Garnier… But the feeling on my skin was really different. Definitely rougher and not pleasant like using this delicate foam. Once I tried it I kept it dearly to my heart 😉

I have still left more than half of the product in the packaging and I used it almost everyday since I opened it 3 months ago.

HERA Creamy Cleansing Foam 200ml 3_edited_edited

Put a drop of the product on your palm. Add some water, and start to make the foam till it becomes white and of delicate consistency on your palms. Then massage it in round motions onto your face for about a minute. The massage will help you wash away efficiently the makeup but also stimulates skin’s regeneration.

It’s always a good thing to do a self massage when applying treatments onto the skin because it allows to go deeper into the tissues and you are sure to have reached its best effects. I particularly like to massage it a lot for this reason and I insist especially around my t-zone and cheeks to get rid of any kind of excess sebum accumulated during the day, smog and of the cream fard I use.

The final step is to rinse well with lukewarm water and that’s it! Simple and fresh in less than 3 minutes.

If you want to give your skin a more freshen up feeling, after the last step, you should wash yourself with cold water to close your pores and give your skin a blast (this is of course especially good in summer). The skin will appear tight and rosey after it!

There’s nothing left to say about this product, just try it yourself and let me know by posting a message! I’m always happy to receive your comments and likes.

Bye and always feel beautiful, because you are beautiful! 🙂

Last weekend I participated as a guest to a wedding and I noticed women lacking common knowledge when it comes to dress up for this kind of occasions. Long dresses for a morning wedding… Black clothes all over… IT WAS TERRIBLE! Even if we are all catholic, and we all grew up knowing the simple rules for a good and appropriate guest on a wed day, there’s always someone who dress up only trying to appear beautiful/sexy, forgetting the common rules.

ARE YOU DOUBTFUL ABOUT WHAT TO WEAR AS A GUEST TO A CATHOLIC WEDDING? You are reading the right post, FOLLOW MY 3 SIMPLE RULES and you will be perfect!

I’m italian, and here in Italy weddings are pretty crazy: a lot of food, the party that goes on for the entire day until late in the night…

In Italy we are traditional when it comes to weddings. Ours confession is mostly catholic so we always, without a fail, celebrate it in a church. It’s rare to have a laic celebration even so the clothes required for these 2 types of events could be the same (except that in the church you have to be necessarily more respectful), so let me explain myself:

You are required to wear classic and formal clothes  and to follow some simple and relatively known rules:

  • For women is preferable to wear dresses, more feminine and classic than pants. But if you don’t intend to wear a dress, elegant long pants would be fine too. (not the low cut version of course… no belly exposing please!)
  • Jeans are banned even if you have payed them 400 $ and are brand named…
  • Don’t expose your legs too much, no exposed breasts too (this is known I suppose, but even here in Italy I happened to see young women too much undressed and they might appear vulgar especially to old people who’s traditional).
  • You have to wear a jacket or a pullover over your dress if you have bare shoulders or arms. Something that covers up them and eventually, if you have a deep back dress, your back. You can always wear the jacket only for the mass in the church and then when going to the party take it off as it was only to be respectful to the sacred place you were visiting.

So, let’s resume what not to expose/not to wear:
YES to pants but definitely a NO to exposed belly!
NO jeans
NO mini skirts (a knee length is perfect) —- > if the dress/skirt is at half legs height, at least cover them up with dark tights!
NO exposed breasts
NO bare shoulders and back
NO sexy/cocoon dresses (you aren’t in disco, you are in a church!)

NO LONG DRESSES or long skirts that cover your feet (only the bride should wear one!)

Other things are fine so as long as you follow the “not to do” list you will be ok. There’s no limit to heels and accessories (except for hats that you have to take off if you are in a closed room as it is a church or a public room…) but there’s a hard rule that most people even don’t know of it’s existence. ——->

It’s taken too lightly, but for me and especially who’s traditional, it’s important. NO TOTAL BLACK AND NO TOTAL WHITE, WHY?

  • NO TOTAL BLACK to a christian wedding please! ———> black in our religion is the death color, used for commemorative celebrations, so is a no-no-go for black dresses to a wedding.

It’s like saying that you wish for the couple to break up soon after the marriage or that you don’t approve their decision! It’s really rude to wear it! I know that black is the most elegant/fashion/always trendy…. bla… bla… bla… colour, but for a wedding is the most inappropriate when it comes in total look.

  • NO TOTAL WHITE! Because only the bride has the right to wear it, as a symbol of her pureness. So don’t be in competition with her on her special day, ok? Be a good girl, your special day will arrive too 😉

But in general If you mix white with other colors is fine, the same goes with black, so you can wear both white and black, not in a total look. For a wedding it’s still preferable to wear bright colours. Green, pink, red and electric blue are a must!

I went to a wedding some years ago where, at 10 a.m there were 3 women in black evening bare back long dresses… 3 mistakes in one row… black/bare back/long dresses… Awful, too much disrespectful! And again last weekend 2 women in pink long evening dresses… it was 11 o’ clock… So just remember that the length of the dress is super important! —->

And, coming back on the topic, most weddings are celebrated in early morning/afternoon hours.

3 ♥ THE MOST APPROPRIATE LENGHT: Definitely the knee length! When I say knee length it’s ok even if it’s shorter or longer by 3-4 centimeters.

I’ve included some examples, look down here (of course these dresses aren’t enough for a church, you should accompany them with a jacket or a proper cover up for shoulders and arms, but the style and the length is perfect) ——>

0004149658 141501-a18-2 (1) 0005219926 0005936924 0005751532 (1) 0006183307_edited 0004514148_edited 0005268244

These rules are important and knowing them is like having a complete control over your appearance on that day.

If you are looking for other accessories it’s definitely better a gentle smile given to the people around you than any kind of precious jewels you might wear. Even if you don’t know anyone of the family or friends just remember to smile and all will turn well 🙂

Hope to have been useful to you all! Bye and be happy, cause a marriage is always something beautiful!

YESSTYLE affordable clothes

Hi, this time I want to write about a website I truly love when it comes to shopping. I am talking about an affordable place on the internet that I like for the design of clothes, wide range of sizes and affordable prices of their products.

offers a really wide range of clothes for women, men and babys and lots of accessories as jewelry, shoes, bags, beauty products and some other stuff like technology as covers for iPhones and home stuff.

I have to say that I am very difficult in tastes when it comes to clothes because my grandma used to be a tailor in major brands in Milan when she was really young, so as I grew up in her house, I developed some classic and chic taste seeing her always so elegant and minimal in her everyday routine. Her wardrobe really is to die for! So as you can comprehend I’ve been really influenced by her taste in particular when it comes to the fabric and the design.

In Italy we have lots of luxury brands but as I am not a rich woman I can’t afford those tailored clothes so I have to choose between other medium-low priced shops. Plus the economy in Italy is going really bad so we can’t have much money to use for shopping, and all the clothes here have been increased a lot in price and decreased sensibly in quality.

So if I want to go shopping I have to go to H&M or ZARA, which aren’t italian brands and hope to find some good stuff for about 15-25 euro each. Sometimes I find something but the quality even in these brands it’s not always the best. Why I need good quality? Because I use the same clothes for years until the colours or sizes change. I still have t-shirts of my middle school and sometimes I use them as I have the same size and aren’t worn out. I don’t find a good thing that the fashion trends change so quickly, because we throw good clothes just to make some space in the wardrobe. I don’t have so much clothes in my drawer so maybe that’s the trick.

50 euro for a dress is still a good bargain in Italy if you can find a well made piece, but definitely still not a good price as I recall that 5 years ago I could buy 2 dresses or 3-4 t-shirts for the same money. 50 euro now with the bad economy is a lot of money and I really hate to spend them all just for one dress so I was disappointed to begin with about all this matter.

But I have still one more problem which I always had but now seems worsened because the majority of the brands in Italy started 3-4 yr ago to sell clothes in bigger sizes, so actually an XS is an S and an M is an L. I have a really small waist and chest so I always find clothes too much big for my body shape and so my shopping became a nightmare.

So I had this idea some time ago after I was rejected for a modelling job for being too much skinny. I was told by the man in chief when I was wearing some of their clothes which were too much big for my frame: “You’re too much skinny, you have a built as an asian and we even can’t use you for asian clothes because you are too much tall and you are way too thin on the waist.” I was really surprised at the beginning for those words because where do you find people in modeling jobs that don’t appreciate a thin body? “Well, nothing to worry about”, I told myself. It was only a job for having some pocket money. I don’t have those kind of ambitions so I wasn’t particularly angry or sad about not obtaining that job but those words really made me think.

Asian clothes? Why don’t I buy some of those and see for myself? Maybe I can find my size!

And so I searched websites of asian brands and I found yesstyle which sells a lot of KOREAN BRANDS that became my favourites cause I seem to have the right size to fit the clothes. I was so awe all the time in seeing some of the cutest clothes I always dreamt to buy here in Italy and I even made a list of my favourites long maybe about 100 articles.

In the end I chose 6 products for an amount of 120 dollars (98 euro). Even if in the beginning I was afraid to order them, because I was scared of receiving the wrong sizes and maybe different clothes from what I chose I still made my order on January of this year. I was so impatient! I received the package a month later with express shipment and to my great surprise the clothes were perfect on me and all of them were wrapped up in their own cellophane.

marzo 2014 019_edited
With my first order I became a BRONZE MEMBER, so I had a 10 dollars discount for the next order if I placed one above 80 dollars and an ulterior 3% discount on every product on the website. With a minimum purchase of 25 dollars shipment is free (economy postage) and with a minimum order of 80 dollars the shipment is Express and free (3-5 days until the package reach your country)

With 120 dollars (98 euro, which was a great bargain) I received 6 articles:
– a ribbed Henley in charcoal grey
– lace up high boots in brown ——–> that I always wanted but I couldn’t find a similar model in Italy
– banded A-line waist skirt
– long sleeve furry knit sweater in pink
– v-neck colour-block knit top navy and yellow ———> My favourite, it looks so beautiful on my pale skin! With black leggings and brown boots with a bit of heels it looks stunning!
– Cut-out sleeveless black dress

All of this clothes fit me perfectly. I ordered the smallest sizes as I checked on the sizes information of every product the right conversion from inches to cm. (here in Italy we use cm)
I was a bit afraid about ordering the size of the black cut-out dress but it fits me really well without making me appear wearing a dress too much big for myself. The cut-out parts make it stand out from the crowd of the others plain black dresses.

The problem for me still remains the length of the clothes because I’m tall and so I have to check every product information, even so I find not difficult to find clothes over 84 cm long (the right length for not showing my panties when walking).

I was so impressed by the great service, the awesome fabrics and designs that I placed another order a week ago. I was in need of a beautiful unique dress to wear in a special formal occasion. I will meet with my boyfriend family in May and we have to go in church, so I felt like: “Oh, my… I have to be cute and feminine enough to make me look lovely!” I know for sure that , of all the days I could be ugly, that day I will look my worse. It’s always like this, right girls? Pimples, red eyes and black circles will appear for sure on my face. But, hey, I will wear a stunning dress so maybe nobody will notice…

This time I placed an order of 150 dollars (112 euro) and I will receive 9 products. I used my 10 dollars bonus, and I was a little unsure about it, cause I never used one coupon before on internet but I could use it without a problem. I ordered the dress, which was really really cheap for the details I saw on the images (24 dollars/19 euro), bag, shoes, a necklace and earrings to complete my outfit. My boyfriend when saw the dress on the website told me: “That’s it, it’s the right dress for you and its way too cheap to miss it.” I was a little unsure about it so I kept searching for other dresses but in the end I ordered it.

I even ordered grey leggings, a light pink summer dress, a sheer turtle neck dress and an orange skater dress to use this summer and I will surely buy again when will arrive the discounts in May/June for the final clearance of the end of season of spring fashion.

With this new order I will be SILVER MEMBER, I will have 2 coupons of 10 dollars to use on different purchases of at least 80 dollars and a 5 % discounts on every products on the site.

Yesstyle is definitely a really good place to do some shopping and find great bargains if you want to purchase good stuff without paying a high bill for it! Definitely recommended.

P.S I’m not being payed by the website for this positive review!! I’m only writing about my personal experience so it’s only the truth what I’m saying. I’m happy because I can buy a lot of great clothes without paying too much and to have found dresses of my right size!

Hope to have been useful to someone who couldn’t find good clothes for cheap! Bye and take care all of you.

This is my first time writing on a blog and I am here to share with you some simple thoughts of mine. As you can see from the name of my blog, I find really difficult to sleep at night, so I would like to pass this hours writing and sharing some pics and thoughts while listening to music.

So what I will write in the future?

Personally I’m really a calm person, I love cats and I keep 8 of them at home, so I think I will write a lot on this topic (right now one of them is sitting on my lap). I often take pics of landscapes, cause I live in a rural area and most likely I will share them with you. My major is in art and I continue to keep my skills up working on portraits, so I will upload some of my future works on here.

For now I must say sorry about my poor English skills. This is not my actual mother-language, and this is another thing I actually would like to improve about myself using this blog.

So take care all of you until the next night!

This pic is mine, taken during summer. Hope you will enjoy my posts from now on.
